As an advocate for accessible resources for our students , signing up for the OER fellowship was of upmost importance to me. Providing zero cost text for students allows students to have access to valuable academic work without the financial challenges that many of our students face. In thinking about the process of transforming my syllabus to become more accessible, I researched texts and supplemental texts that I hope will meet my students needs. I have started working with Professor Brandle in her OER Course Conversion professional development and my goal is to provide access for my students to have a variety of resources that will help support their growth. I am excited to learn about all of the possibilities in OER. I like to supplement my class with readings such as case studies, novels, videos, documentaries and additional sources that align with the course. I hope to find novels that are also OER that my students can have access to. My goal is to provide an equitable learning environment for all of my students.
