Round Two —

Greetings, I am Carlene Barnaby, one of two faculty involved in the first round of converting criminal justice courses. The OER conversion is not only a necessary process but exciting. OER has become a prominent part of the ‘equity in education’ conversation and a vital tool for educators to freely and creatively produce content that informs and inspires students.
During this process, the objective is to revisit the original conversion of the course Crime & Punishment and also to develop and convert the new field course. Overall, the design approach will facilitate the transition from institutional to experiential learning.

Professor Barnaby- thanks so much for sharing! As you were an early adopter/converter on our campus, it will be very interesting to see your perspective on how OER has changed/evolved since your initial involvement, as well as to see how open educational practices can help you move your classes to more experiential learning!
